How these football predictions are made

Zort pulls live odds from around 27 UK and EU bookmakers through The Odds API, strips out each bookmaker's margin using Shin's method rather than the simpler proportional method — which overstates long-shot chances by roughly 1.2 percentage points — and feeds the resulting true probabilities into a Poisson/Dixon-Coles model with a low-score correction. That model produces the 1/X/2 split, the correct score and the both teams to score read in the table above. An independent second opinion reviews each candidate when that review service is available; on the days it isn't, the board still ships on schedule, recorded internally as odds-only. The whole board goes live daily at 10:00 UTC.

What is a correct score prediction?

A correct score prediction is a call on the exact final scoreline of a match, such as 2-1, which is one of the hardest markets in football because dozens of scorelines are plausible in any single game. The Score column above is the most likely scoreline consistent with the outcome we predict, and the Goals column is that scoreline's own total. The full breakdown is at Correct Score Predictions.

What does both teams to score (BTTS) mean?

Both teams to score (BTTS) is a bet that each side finds the net at least once during the match, regardless of the final result — it settles as a simple Yes or No, with no draw outcome to account for. See Both Teams To Score Tips.

How do I track my own bets?

The Zort app reads a photo of your bet slip and logs the stake, odds and settled outcome automatically, then shows what your betting has actually returned across every bookmaker you use, in one place. Get Zort

How accurate have these predictions been?

Every fixture priced between 16 August 2026 and 12 September 2026 (2507 matches), checked against the final score. Predicted is the confidence shown in the Pred column; observed is how often that pick actually won.

Updated weekly from settled results. A well-calibrated board has Predicted and Won close together in every row; a gap is a flaw in the model, and we publish it either way.

Frequently asked questions

Are these football predictions free?

Yes. Every prediction on Zort, including the daily fixture board and both correct score and BTTS breakdowns, is free to view with no signup, login or payment.

When are the predictions published?

The full board is published daily at 10:00 UTC at zort-app.com/predictions/, covering every match priced that day — typically around 7 fixtures on a quiet day and 20 to 40 during a full midweek round.

What does both teams to score mean?

Both teams to score (BTTS) is a bet that each team scores at least one goal during the match, regardless of who wins. It settles as Yes or No, with no draw outcome to consider.

How are the predictions made?

From live odds across roughly 27 UK and EU bookmakers, de-vigged with Shin's method, fed into a Poisson/Dixon-Coles model with a low-score correction. An independent second opinion reviews each candidate when that review service is available; on the days it isn't, the board still publishes, recorded internally as odds-only.

Do the predictions win?

No prediction, ours included, can promise a football result. Correct score and BTTS markets carry real uncertainty by design, so treat every prediction as a probability, not a promise.
